Here are some simple ways to backup a database (website data), for restoring and precautionary purposes:
- Log in to the hosting control panel (cPanel) of the domain to be backed up
- Look for: phpMyAdmin
- Find and click the name of the database to be backed up (*make sure not to confuse it with another website's database name).
- Click Export (to get the latest data).
- Then, click "Go"
